Searching for grace, symmetry, and focal interest in a range of places – from the most obvious garden choices to the less conventional historical cemetery – Kristen Perkins floats behind the lens in an effort to capture the ever elusive idea of “beauty” in her digital images. Kristen, the photographer behind Through the Viewfinder, seeks out images from an eclectic mix of medias, focusing her photography on still life and natural landscapes, black and white composition, wedding and family portraiture, and high action images – such as live concert photography.

Raised in the Richmond area, Kristen is intimately involved in capturing images from across her home state of Virginia. Travels range from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the national Capitol, and to the most eastern Virginia barrier islands. Enthralled with the alluring symmetry and balance of natural images, much of Kristen’s photography focuses on floral images and organic scenes.
